Burcher
Butcher
On the outskirts of the small town of St. Martinville, Louisiana, a tale of the Pig-Headed Butcher has been passed down for generations. He is said to have been a huge, obese man who began his work only after nightfall, when the slaughterhouse had already closed and the last workers had long since returned home.
But he did not butcher animals.
According to the legend, his victims were hunters, poachers, and people who killed animals out of cruelty or for their own pleasure. None of them ever returned home.
Some claim it is a curse that befell a butcher who never felt the slightest remorse for the countless lives he took. Others believe it is something far older—a vengeance of nature itself, taking the form of both man and beast.
To this day, the locals say that if you hear the rhythmic sound of a cleaver being sharpened coming from the abandoned slaughterhouse late at night, you should turn back. Because on that night, someone has begun working again.

Role in The Black Bestiary
Butcher is an effective counter to decks that rely on the Cemetery and the Hollowed mechanic. Beings defeated by him are destroyed instead of becoming Corpses, denying your opponent the opportunity to return or reuse them. His low sacrifice cost and high Power make him an exceptionally effective hunter of the most dangerous Beings.
